Pet Health Certificates
Certified veterinarian on staff.
If you’re planning to travel with your pet within the United States, most states require an official domestic health certificate (also known as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) issued by a licensed veterinarian.
We’re happy to assist you with obtaining a domestic health certificate for your pet. This document verifies that your pet has been examined by a veterinarian and is healthy to travel. Please note that we do not offer international health certificates at this time.
When scheduling your appointment, please let us know your travel dates and destination state so we can prepare the proper paperwork. Most domestic health certificates must be completed within 10 days of travel.
For car travel, it’s a good idea to carry your pet’s vaccine history, current rabies certificate, and a copy of their domestic health certificate. If you’re flying, check your airline’s specific pet travel requirements, as these can vary between carriers.
Important questions to ask your airline might include:
- What are your pet travel policies?
- Do you offer fleet cargo space for large pets? Will this affect which flights I can book?
- Are small pets allowed in the cabin area?
- Do you have specific pet carrier requirements?
- What are your pick up and drop off policies for pets?
- How do you handle layovers when there are pets on board?
